What is the period for csc, sec, and cot?
What are the periods for the cosecant (csc), secant (sec), and cotangent (cot) functions? Thank you!

Assuming no compressions or expansions:
cscx = 2pi, since the period of sinx= 2pi
secx = 2pi, since the period of cosx= 2pi
cotx = pi, since the period of tanx= pi
Note: even if cscx, secx, and cotx are reciprocals, the period does NOT change.

cot does indeed have a period of pi, but sec and csc have periods of 2pi
The trig functions csc, sec and cot are called reciprocal functions.
If you know the periods for sin, cos and tan, you know the periods for the three trig functions you seek.
But, here is it:
Period for csc is 2pi
Period for sec is 2pi
Period for cot is pi
What does this mean anyway?
It means the trig functions csc and sec repeat the same graph 2pi units to the left and right of the origin forever; the cot function repeats the same graph pi units to the left and right of the origin forever.
Clear?
