What kind of sausage would you substitute for Thai or Chinese style sausage in a recipe?

I'm looking to make a Thai-style "gumbo," but I can't find Thai or Chinese sausage at any grocery store near me. What type of sausage would be a suitable substitute in this recipe?

Hi, Thai-style gumbo doesn’t necessarily need to be made with ‘chinese sausages’, you can substitute that with a number of alternatives such as a simple pork sausage. Better yet you can try going with a ‘lapchong’ sausage which has a great taste and goes with most Thai dishes.

Generally you can swap cнιcκen for sausage most of the time. In Rachel Ray’s delicious recipe use the ground cнιcκen with complete confidence. The olive oil will give you a fabulous golden color on the cнιcκen, which will look stunning against the broccoli. Or use strips of cнιcκen fillet for a meatier bite!
