What mythical creatures have healing powers?
What mythical creatures are known to possess healing powers? I’m aware that unicorns and phoenixes are often associated with such abilities, but are there any others? I’m writing a story and trying to figure out what unique attribute the female protagonist might unknowingly have that grants her the ability to heal.

I almost just passed this by - I'm just browsing around and happened on it. I'm not any expert on mythical creatures and healing powers. I could even say some things about fantasy, but I won't. I can offer a suggestion, though. Take it or leave it....... Saying literally that a girl has a unicorn "in her" is prettty odd and hard to believe, even for fantasy. Maybe a better angle would be to say that she was kissed by a unicorn or phoenix. Me, I like phoenix better. Or even more - give her something like Star Wars' "The Force", which can come from anyplace you want to invent. Falling into a magical cave, being hexed by a wizard, all sorts of things are possible. To me, those sorts of concepts are easier to swallow than, "She has a phoenix inside her." Just some thoughts.....
