Which hair straightener do i get?? :( Royale or Chi?
I’ve been wanting a new hair straightener and need help deciding between two options: the Royale and the CHI. My friend has a pink Royale flat iron, and I’ve wanted it for a long time, but I never managed to save up for it. After using it once, I loved how smooth and silky it made my hair feel, plus the color is so pretty! The downside is that it’s quite expensive, and I’d have to order it online.
On the other hand, I’ve heard a lot about the CHI straightener from a YouTube video, and I recently saw it at a hair salon near me. It only comes in black, but it’s about $30 cheaper than the Royale. I haven’t tried it yet, so I’m wondering—does the CHI also make your hair silky and smooth like the Royale? If it does, I might go for the CHI because of the price and convenience.
For context, I have thick hair, and I’ve been using a Conair straightener for a while now. It’s old but still works fine—I’m just ready for an upgrade. Any advice would be super helpful! Thank you!

i have a chi. i like it fine. it has one temperature, but its just to keep you from burning your hair. it leaves mine smooth and silky, also remember, that if you buy a straightener, buy one made of ceramic, or tourmaline, because those are the ones that leave your hair smoother. also, when you straighten your hair, use a comb, as you straighten, to get each hair.
The chi is amazing I’ve had mine for 3 years I have a bright blue one and yes it leaves ur hair silky smooth .. they come in all sorts of crazy colors I bought mine at jcpenney salon for 80 w a coupon I’ve also seen them at ulta
I would recommend this one:
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you are in the US you can buy from http://myhairstylingtools.com,/ they are also giving away a free heat matt/carrying case and some heat serum that works really well. If you are in Canada you can buy at http://www.hairtools.ca/ If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
A little about plate quality:
* Aluminum â 90âs and low quality, will stick to your hair and terrible results.
* Colored Plates â Stay away from these, they may look nice but they are for show and they are not good for your hair.
* Ceramic Plates â White or Yellowish color plate â These plates are good but they are older technology from around 2002. Many companies still use these as it is cheaper to manufacture than a tourmaline ceramic plate.
* Titanium Plates â Gun Metal Grey color â These are great plates and provide great results. These and Tourmaline Ceramic plates are about the same in quality but work different with different hair types. You would need to try both to see which one provides the best results for your hair type.
* Tourmaline Ceramic â Gun Metal Grey in color â These are currently the best plates on the market. currently I only see Karmin and Sedu using these plates. It appears all the other brands are focused on cutting costs by using the cheaper plates.
Some features you should look for:
* Variable Temperature Control (If you have thick hair make sure it heats up to at least 420F)
* Swivel Cord
* At least a 3 year warranty (most hair straighteners will die in the first year or two)
* If you travel then make sure its dual voltage
You can also check reviews at http://flatironsreviews.com/ to see their ranking of the top 10 flat irons. Good luck and I hope this helps.
i love the chi but if you use a shine serum and heat protectant and a hot iron it should always be silky ð but with the chi you can’t go wrong, it’s a really good popular straightener.
I have a Royale for five years love it , I never on Chi, it leaves my hair shiny and soft. I get lots of comments on y hair, My hair has been short and long does well on both
I would get the Royale because I’ve heard the CHI doesn’t let you choose the Temperature you like so it gets hot cools down get hot cools down wich can be irritating.
