Typically, only water dogs will have very noticeable webbing between their toes. However, I checked my border collie and he does have long toes with skin in between. Is your BC a smooth coated version? This would make the toes more noticeable than a rough coated bc. If you got your bc from a reputable breeder and have his registration papers, you shouldn’t need to be too worried about his parentage if you are planning on showing him. If he is just going to be a family pet, and he has the intelligence and drive, I wouldn’t be too worried about what his feet look like! 🙂 Love and train your puppy. Without a job to do and something to keep their minds busy, bc’s can get into a lot of mischief!

I’m sure Collies are not meant to have webbed feet, but dogs that work in water typically have webbed feet.

Portuguese Water Dog, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Field Spaniel, Newfoundland and German Wirehaired Pointer are amongst the breeds with webbed feet. Even a labrador is bred with webbed feet.

It is normal for border collies and most other breeds of dogs to have webbed or partially webbed feet

Are you sure it’s a pure breed collie & not a cross?

i dont have a border collie but i’m pretty sure they arent suppossed to have webbed toes… lol… i’d talk to your vet if i were you. but email me at [email protected] when you find out because i would like to know!!

I have a pure bred and papered short haired BC. He does have some webbing however it is not as pronounced as that of a retriever.

i think all dogs have webbed feet if you pull the toes are apart they dont have feet and hands like us and the two in the middle are normally webbed a bit closer!well im always inspecting my dogs feet and thats what they have!
