B. Betrayal of friends.Explanation: according to Dante's Inferno, there are nine circles of Hell, being the first one for the most mild sins and then while he goes down in the circles, the sins are more serious, until the circle number nine, which is reserved to the worst sinners. The first circle is the limbo which was like an inferior form of heaven, and then we can find circles for sins like lust, gluttony, greed, anger, etc, but the last and worst circle is for people that commit treachery, so we can infer that Dante considered the betrayal of friends monstrous.

The correct answer is option d. "Being a hypocritical person". Dante Alighieri's epic poem "Divine Comedy", included the description of hell in the first part of the poem called "Inferno". In Inferno, Dante placed hypocritical persons far down in the circles of Hell, as the author believed that hypocrites are guilty of one of the worst sins which is deliberately fooling people by false piety, tolerance or honesty.

C. Being a Hypocritical Person. In the Inferno, Dante descends through the concentric circles of hell starting with the least punishment and culminating in the center where Satan resides. Of the options provided, being a hypocrite is deepest in the concentric circles. Hypocrites were condemned to the 8th circle of hell. This is only 1 circle removed from the worst of hell. It therefore follows that Dante most likely considered a hypocrite as more monstrous than all the other options provided.
