What did Archie Bunker mean when he called Edith a pip?
Please, I have a question about the term "pip" used by Archie Bunker when referring to Edith. Could someone explain what Archie meant when he called Edith a pip? I would appreciate a quick response. Thanks!

Archie Bunker frequently said, "You're a pip, Edith."
Merriam-Webster defines "pip" as "a feeling of irritation or annoyance."
The term "pip" refers to someone who tends to be difficult but is still likable. At times, it was almost a term of endearment for Archie.
Edith used the term as well.
In All in the Family, Season 9, Episode 25: "Too Good Edith," Edith Bunker delivered the final line, "You know something, Archie: You're a pip. A real pip."
