Dell error code: 0123?

I ran a memory test and received the following error: Error Code: 200-0123. Message: Memory integrity test failed. Location: DIMM_2. My computer indicates that I have 4GB of RAM, which is Corsair gaming memory. My system is a Dell XPS 420 with BIOS Version: A03. Here are some additional memory specifications: Memory Speed: 800 MHz, Memory Channel Mode: Dual Symmetric, Memory Technology: DDR2 SDRAM. The processor is an Intel Quad CPU with a clock speed of 2.40 GHz and a bus speed of 1066 MHz.

I am considering updating my computer since it is fairly old. I have already replaced the video card and am thinking about changing the hard drive as well. Additionally, I am contemplating upgrading the RAM because I have been experiencing crashes while playing games like World of Warcraft.

I would appreciate any information regarding the error message I have been receiving during system diagnostics and suggestions on how to resolve the issue. If anyone has tips for improving my system's performance, I would be grateful. I am looking to upgrade my computer, but my budget is tight, so purchasing a new one is not an option at this time. Thank you for any positive and helpful responses!

It sounds like you have 4 memory slots. 2 are filled and 2 are empty.

The memory test is saying one of the memory modules is bad. Location Dimm_2 should be the slot further from the center of the board–that is the bad module. It must be replaced.

It looks like it is ddr2 800mhz (PC 6400) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Sub…

You probably should be buying 2gb each modules like you have installed. They usually are sold as pairs but if you are tight on cash you can just replace the bad module. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Sub…

It is a sign of bad memory. If it is on the memory stick it must be replaces. If it is in the ram slot the motherboard is bad.
