does a 05 Yamaha 250 blaster exsist?
My friend is trying to sell me a 2005 Yamaha Blaster, claiming it is a 250cc model. However, I've heard differing opinions about the existence of a 250 model from that year. Can anyone clarify this for me?

The owners manual is what you should ask for. The insurance papers will also have the model correctly mentioned. Use your common sense too and do take another Yamaha owner for a test ride for a second opinion. A little patience now will deal richer dividends later.

It looks like mainly 200, but there are a few people selling 250s. On Wiki someone answered that question (was it yours) and told them no, there was only 200. According to Yamaha’s website, when you click on Blaster it just comes up as a 200
All Blasters were 2 stroke 200cc. Yamaha did make a sport model called a Raptor 250 that was 4 stroke however they didn’t make one in 2005.

The Blaster has a plastic tank for the engine oil. If I remember right, it’s up by the handlebars. This oil MUST be 2 stroke oil. YAMALUBE can be purchased at your local dealer. I used to have a blaster back in ’92, which for ME, is a LONG time ago. Hope you didn’t ruin the engine running it without oil.
