Does PetArmor Plus actually work?

I have a dog that spends most of her time outside and has been dealing with fleas. My parents are hesitant to let her inside because of the flea issue. In my desperation, I purchased PetArmor Plus and applied it to her. I’m curious, how long does it typically take for all the fleas to die? I've noticed one or two dead fleas on her, but I suspect there are still some hiding, especially on her belly. Will those fleas die as well? Essentially, can I expect all of them to be eliminated? Thank you for your help! 😊

It may work.

The main ingredient, fipronyl, is the same as the main ingredient in Frontline. The issue, though, is that none of the other ingredients are the same, which means the ingredients that carry the fipronyl through the skin may not work as well. Some of our clients report it works, while others say it does not.

Fipronyl works by attacking the flea’s nervous system when they crawl through it. The fleas don’t have to bite to die.

Any of the topicals take up to 12 hours to kill the fleas. Remember that any immature stages (egg, larvae, pupae) of the flea will be in your environment, and those will hatch out and eventually emerge into adults, which will then crawl through the hair coat and die. The pupae can lie dormant for 3 months, so don’t think using it once will kill all the fleas. You have to use flea treatments every 30 days for the life of the pet — AND you have to use treatments on every pet in your household.

We have clients who think the meds have stopped working, when they aren’t applying it correctly or don’t realize new fleas are emerging and getting onto the pet. IF the product you bought is going to work, you will still see fleas getting onto your dog until the environment is clear.

I’m not sure whether the product you bought will keep the fleas from reproducing, but that is critical. Either kill them with a tablet that will kill after just one bite (they bite every 5-15 minutes) or will keep eggs from hatching (Frontline Plus.) I just don’t know whether your product kills the eggs. If it doesn’t, then you’ll be behind the 8 ball forever, killing fleas that are hatching and jumping on your dog.

Our vet hospital has coupons and free Frontline doses with purchase of a 6 pack. That brings the cost way down. You can buy Frontline from a vet without a prescription or an exam. At least call around to vets and ask about specials and coupons.

I hope your Pet Armor works. I hope it keeps the eggs from hatching.

PetArmor Plus does work. It is the same active ingredient as Frontline Plus and works in the same manner. The reason that this now being offered is because the patent has run out on Frontline. It’s significantly cheaper than Frontline and when combined with a coupon, it’s very reasonable in price.
