epsxe runs my games way too fast?
I successfully downloaded ePSXe and want to use my own PlayStation 1 games on it. I inserted a PS1 game into the disc drive, went to the "File" menu, and selected "Run CD-ROM," which worked. However, the game is playing at an incredibly fast speed, making it completely unplayable. In the simplest terms possible (as I’m not very knowledgeable about downloads or files), how can I slow down the games I put into ePSXe to a normal speed?

you have to mess around with the frames per second (fps) I have mine on the medium setting and thats fine. I forget which button it is but just press it till your game runs normally. I hope that helps you out man.
i’ve been messing around with emulation for over a decade. i figured i’d post a good solution somewhere, seeing as this thread has a lot of current hits.
if you have “all” the video plugins, you will see “pete’s d3d driver” which is the plugin i’ve used as a video driver back when i first got ps1 emulation working. it has the most customazation out of the video plugins i have at the moment, and fixed my problem with the video speed thing. you could probably max out all the settings with pete’s plugin making these graphics much better than you ever saw on the original ps1 even with the best screen ever made. some plugins don’t have turbo or framelimiting settings. pete’s plugin worked after clicking “nice” at the bottom left. i decided to try maxing the settings after that, and my pc only has like 2 p4s plus 8gb of ddr2 ram and a comperable gpu. i had to download a DLL, but the emulator works fine after that. i hope the disc switching works. it didn’t back in 2008 when i tried emulating ps1 games. i got disc switching to work on multi disc games with some trick i invented, which i forget what it was now.

Hi,
This is a good link for downloading ePSXe for free: http://bit.ly/1rlAjJb
it’s completely free and it’s very fast to install
ePSXe is a magical configuration tool that guides the user step-by-step, recommending which plugins, bios, CD controllers are the most recommended for the system running them and the available hardware.
