Have you ever tried the Chinese dish known as "Dragon and Phoenix"? If so, what did you think of it? It's become one of my favorite dishes, and I order it often. What about you?

I had tried one of those cold/hot dishes as an appetizer with all the cold meat decorated into the shape of a dragon and all the hot meat in the shape of a phoenix like some yin and yang plate. I had also been to a few common dragon (loong) and phoenix (forng) chinese restaurants. Its just a creative and auspicious name commonly used to symbolize happiness and prosperity for restaurants’ names or even chinese dishes to depict or symbolize a dish for weddings, Chinese New Year, auspicious celebrations etc. You need to describe your dish in more details *
It’s a good mild dish. I like salt and pepper shrimp, twice cooked pork and this crispy beef dish that’s made by a local place. They just call it spicy crispy beef.
I have heard of it but never had it. Frankly, by your description it sounds unappetizing to me–but in practice I have never had a Chinese dish i didn’t like.
I haven’t tried it, but I will next time I go to Yen Ching. It sounds like something I’d like.
Yes – i agree. It is very delicious. I once had it made with lobster too.
Yes, I have tried it and do like it a lot. The chicken and shrimp combination is good and I like snow peas and baby corn a lot. Peking Duck may be my favorite Chinese dish though.
