How do you make your own furry character? and how friendly are other furries?
My best friend’s brother is a furry—he dresses up as one and has a character named Kett, who is a wolf. I think it's really cool! After doing some research, I have a lot of questions about it. I'm wondering how I can create my own furry character and what the furry community thinks about newcomers. I've heard that some older members can be unfriendly, which I understand, but I would appreciate it if someone could explain this to me. Thank you so much! Also, if you have any negative comments, please keep them to yourself.

Well I chose mine based on the personality I had deep inside. Like befor I was a fur, I used to be quite and kinda boring, but deep inside I wanted to have fur n be a little disruptive, so when I met the fandom and became a fur, I became a coydog cause the coyote was ma crazy side and the husky was the kinda cute innocent part. A year later I yell the word tacos in the middle of nowere! ^^

my best friend’s brother is a furry(well he dresses up as one, he has a character named Kett, and hes a wolf) anyway, i thought it was sooo cool! and started to do some research on it. well i have a lot of about it, and i was wondering how i could create my own character, and if someone could…
To create you’re character, you’d basically create it the same way as you would any other character. Except, you have to choose it’s species. I went with what animal people most commonly related me to- a raccoon X3
Most furries are as friendly as, well, anyone else you would meet on the internet. I warn you though, some stupid people think that furries are “freaks” for some reason. I believe it’s along the lines of them thinking that furries are incredibly perverted. (Even though the manga fandom has way more hentai than almost any other fandom, and far more than the furry fandom…)
Well it’s really up to you. You can start with your favorite animal and take it from there (adding designs and color and personality).
Maybe you should go to a furry convention to get inspired. I didn’t claim to be a furry until I attended a convention to see if it was for me.
Most furries are friendly, but you’ll find jerks here and there… just like in every group.
You can choose whatever you want it to be!
I mean, you can make a fursona based on/entirely like yourself, but also someone completely different from yourself. You can choose the species (one that you really like or identify with) and the details.

By the way, the older furries can be as nasty and as friendly as the younger ones, don’t judge on age!
