How much does cornbread rise when baking?
I'm planning to use muffin pans for baking cornbread and would like to know how much the batter typically rises during baking. Specifically, at what level should I pour the batter to achieve the best results?

I live near sea level, so that might make a difference, depending on your altitude.
I fill the muffin cups to about 2/3 full and, as long as your ingredients are right, they should puff up just over the top of the cup when baked properly.
it doesnt rise too much, so fill them about 1/2-3/4 of the way. good luck!

It should rise to approx. double in height. I good recipe should, but the recipe & the difference in ingredients and altitude makes a difference.
