How to write 40.30 in scientific notation?
How do I write 40.30 in scientific notation? I believe it might be 4.03 x 10^1, but that doesn't seem quite right. I feel like it could be simpler than I'm overthinking. Could you please provide an explanation to clarify this for me? Thank you very much!

Yes that correct, 4.03 x 10^1. Scientific notation is always in 3 digits. And also to the power of something if it is too big or too small! I hope I helped!

it’s right bro, you move the decimal point by one…so yep….however i just subtract big exponents by how many numbers there are after the decimal, and that’s how many zeros i usually put. if it becomes negative after subtraction then that’s how many times the decimal goes to the right.
For negative numbers it’s the same concept except if there are more numbers after the decimal than the exponent then i don’t subtract i just move the decimal by the exponent number.
easier than it sound….
