What is an mm_sec file in a cellphone memory card?
I have a 4GB memory card. When I inserted it into my laptop, I noticed a file named "mm_sec" which is identified as a "DAT file." My brother advised me not to delete it, saying that something might be missing if I did. However, I had already deleted it before, and it reappeared when I inserted the card again. My brother was right; some pictures on my card were missing and I couldn't find them. Additionally, there are some hidden folders on my card that I did not create. Can someone please help me understand what this "mm_sec" file is and why it keeps reappearing? Also, how can I prevent my pictures from disappearing? Thanks a lot for your help!

The Data Allocated Table is created when files are copied to a flash drive, allowing them to be readable once again after being reinserted. You can delete these tables, and they will reappear. If you do not want them to be displayed, go to Folder Options in the Control Panel and select 'Do not show hidden files and folders' from the submenu.

This refers to the file system used in memory cards. Different systems are employed to read and manage files on the card. The MM-sec file system is primarily used by MP3 players. It is advisable to change the file system of your memory card to the FAT file system.
