most people prefer the food they grew up with. That’s why you find more chinese food markets where a lot of chinese people live abroad or Indian, or whatever.
One can keep in contact with family and friends through phone and internet fairly easily. But so far they can’t fax the right kind of dish.
Closer family members usually come along (spouses, children).

i believe where ever the person is happy and secured and satisfied ,whereever the person is not being killed and humaliated cuz he belongs to a tribe or religion it s the country.but this is the fact that the person misses his familie and friends.
