What is another word for someone who is good with words?

I’m struggling to find the right word to describe someone who is particularly skilled with language. I know there’s a term that fits, but I can’t seem to recall it. I would appreciate suggestions for a word that conveys this idea, ideally one that is not "witty." Thank you!

I have completely drawn a blank and I'm not sure, but I think there is a word that describes someone like that, and a word other than witty, if possible…

Silvertongue is a popular nickname for someone good with words, especially someone who uses that skill to weave illusions and deceptions

I like “vocabulist” or “wordsmith” Someone who is good with words is also called “articulate”. Hope these can clear away the cobwebs. This happens to me regularly, and it really makes me nuts.
